Young Drivers 2019

Streets Ahead at the Corn Exchange 2019

Fact: In 2011, 17 to 25-year-olds accounted for nearly a quarter of all road casualties in Edinburgh, with young men being the most likely to commit driving offences. New drivers are most at risk in their first year of driving.

2019 will be our 9th year of Streets Ahead Young Driver and every state and independent school in Edinburgh has now been invited to Edinburgh's premier rock venue, The Corn Exchange from Monday 30th September to Thursday 3rd October 2019.

The event will focus on the risks and responsibilities facing newly qualified drivers at a time when young people may well be thinking about taking driving lessons.

This is one of our biggest multi agency events involving all the main partners in Streets Ahead and we are very kindly supported by Digby Brown, Solicitors.

Transport will once again be provided to and from school and the Young Driver experience is absolutely FREE for schools to attend.

'It really made me stop and think about what can happen; and how it's not just your life that can be ruined but how it affects your whole family too'  (sixth year pupil, Craigmount High School)

'Pupils and staff found all events thought provoking, while the interactive elements allowed for fun but at the same time a serious message was being given.' (staff member, Queensferry Community High School)
