School travel plan review

We are undertaking a school travel plan review for all schools across the city.

School travel surveys with parents and discussing with pupils and teachers how the safety of their routes to school could be improved.

This will then be noted in a travel plan document that will cover a 5 year period and will aim to address a wide range of issues including crossing points, school gate issues, cycle facilities.

There will be opportunity to address these by introducing new crossings, introducing School Streets, new cycle parking and running campaigns in schools to support walking and cycling.

We will also look to discuss walking and cycling buses with the school and determine the most suitable routes and make infrastructure to support these where required.

The programme for the review can be dowloaded at the link below.

The following schools have completed their School Travel Plan Review and have physically or verbally signed off on the plans. Work is underway to begin delivery of the agreed measures.
